In conjunction with Dr. Catriona Wimberly (Physics, UoE), we use 3D cell models to better understand the behaviour of radiometabolites and improve interpretation of PET imaging data. By culturing cells in physiologically relevant, multicellular microenvironments, we can track radiotracer uptake, metabolism, and clearance in vitro, providing insights into tissue-specific activity and enhancing the predictive value of PET studies in both health and disease.
